When it comes to the G-wagen, since 2002, the good men and women in Stuttgart have seemingly implored the old “if it aint broke…” philosophy. In fact, over the past 15 years, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class W463 has remained largely unchanged. While other models have undergone facelifts, and all-new models have come and gone, the G-class still looks like a decades-old military vehicle (well, it is).
The exterior is nearly identical. The G63 AMG saw a few changes for 2013, but other than that, it’s all status quo. The most significant changes have happened inside the vehicle, with a new instrument cluster, dash arrangement, and the option for a Designo interior with diamond stitching.
We carry OEM and aftermarket kits to convert the exterior, which is a huge improvement (even for the G550), but we think the leather conversion kit is an even more drastic change to the overall appearance. Standing outside the vehicle, you can see the two-tone interior and diamond stiching. It’s intriguing. You can immediately tell, this isn’t your grandpa’s G-class. Open the door and you’re blown away. The pleated leather is gone. There is no sign of wear. The 100% Nappa Leather smells like a new car. The diamond stitching (Mercedes, Brabus, and Mansory patterns available) looks like a million bucks. This leather kit completely transforms the vehicle.
Everything is pre-cut (leathers) and pre-fabricated (door panels). The installation is straightforward. Virtually any upholstery shop can install the kit. In case they need help or instructions, we provide phone and email support. There is no other upgrade you can do to the vehicle to make such a massive change to it’s appearance. This leather replacement kit not only completely modernizes the vehicle, but it gives an edge over virtually every other G-class out there with a two-tone Designo-look diamond stitched interior.
